Our History department has an International reputation for the quality of its research. Undergraduates are taught by leading researchers who bring their evidence and investigations into the classroom. And the programme also allows for a wide choice of modules focusing on political, social and cultural history between 1500 and 2000. As a student of this course, you will find that Film is a fascinating aspect of culture to study. Starting with David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, the course addresses how film 'makes meaning' and evaluates the order of the filmed narrative. Our unique Humanities Programme at the University of Hertfordshire enables you to study a combination of major and minor subjects to create a really bespoke degree that suits both your strengths and interests. It’s up to you whether you continue with your unique combination from your second year of study or simply specialise in perhaps just one or two subject areas.
