Our education studies degree will enable you to understand how people develop and learn over their lifetime. A range of subject disciplines, including psychology, philosophy, history and sociology, will help you discover how culture, society, politics, history and economics all impact on education. All courses have vital practical skills embedded within them. You will learn how to investigate and research your own projects, as well as increase your knowledge of educational processes, systems and approaches. You will also get the opportunity to study social enterprise – increasingly important in working with children and young people. The programme includes a professional work placement that could lead to you running your own business as a social entrepreneur by the end of your degree. We offer our students support and advice outside of regular teaching times, both face-to-face and online. This includes academic support workshops, online assignment support sessions and a student-mentoring scheme that will enable you to build your skills and confidence in the workplace.
