The foundation year is designed to give you: A thorough introduction to chemistry A thorough introduction to biology and biochemistry Fundamentals of energy, life and resources An understanding of how to measure change Essential skills for science Improved mathematics The aims of the programme are: To develop your knowledge base and practical skills so you can become a competent and effective forensic scientist To provide you with the confidence and ability to apply fundamental scientific principles to a variety of practical forensic science situations, specifically within a legal framework To give you the skills to identify and solve problems. You will be able to use quantitative techniques to analyse and interpret data in order to evaluate and present evidence.
