Gaelic/Scottish Literature

GAELIC: - You will study the language and literature of Scottish Gaelic in its historical and cultural contexts. This programme will develop and widen your oral and listening skills in Gaelic and you will have the opportunity to be taught in Gaelic. SCOTTISH LITERATURE: - Scottish literature is the study of the poetry, drama, fiction and prose of Scotland, in English and Scots, from its beginnings in the 14th century to the most contemporary work. The University hosts the only academic unit in the UK exclusively dedicated to the teaching of and research into Scottish literature. We have a research centre dedicated to Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns, and we work closely with many contemporary authors and poets.
