Our BA Philosophy and History (including foundation year) is suitable for you if your academic qualifications do not yet meet our entrance requirements for an undergraduate course. This four-year course includes a foundation year (Year Zero), followed by a further three years of undergraduate study. Our compulsory English language and academic skills module supplements your academic subjects. Not just quiet contemplation – philosophy has great practical value. You study philosophy and history together in order to appreciate the relationships between them with a degree of critical awareness. You identify the relevance of philosophy to other forms of enquiry including social, political, cultural, and in particular historical, and to actively connect these two fields of study.
