Maths is everywhere and our courses are an exciting challenge. You apply your skills to understand and analyse data using modern statistical methods. The orientation is a balance between solid theory and practical application in problems arising from finance, medicine, biology, economics and other fields of modern research. In the first year you take basic mathematics courses, together with an introduction to statistics and probability. In subsequent years you expand your knowledge of mathematics and embark deeper into statistical methods, analysis of data, linear models and survival analysis. Your placement year gives you the chance to gain more experience and become even more employable. In your final year you have the opportunity to pursue further topics in advanced statistics and mathematics and also take a project on mathematical statistics, data analysis or computational statistics.
