The main focus of our business programmes is on the management of organisations. They examine the theories and methods behind management and explore the relationships between people, organisations and their environment with an international perspective. Business with Strategic Economics encompasses the study of public, private and not-for-profit organisations, both small and large, their management practices and processes, and the changing external environment in which they operate. Strategic economics can be thought of as the application of economic principles to strategic decisions that managers make. Most business decisions involve a comparison of marginal benefits with margin cost, widely interpreted, and so implicitly or explicitly involve economic principles. Our highly sought-after programmes are accredited by a wide range of leading business education organisations and professional bodies. We are in the top one per cent of business schools worldwide to hold triple accreditation from international ranking bodies AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. The quality and breadth of our research was ranked 16th in the UK in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 power index. We increased the amount of our research rated world-leading or internationally excellent to 77 per cent. Leading graduate employers are involved across the curriculum.
