Music Technology and Production

Musicians are constantly striving to find new forms of expression in their work and technology is their creative, compositional tool. Music technology is a unique form of study. On the one hand, it’s based on experimentation; on the other, it’s the beating heart of a massive commercial industry. It provides the soundtrack for contemporary culture and has become the main platform of employment for musicians and producers within the creative industries. Our course puts you at the sharpest edge of musical developments, preparing you for the many opportunities and challenges of the 21st century music industry. We’ll provide you with a dynamic mix of modules in computer-based creativity, studio production and sound design. You’ll have the opportunity to develop key skills in music production, working and recording alongside songwriters and instrumentalists. Our students and staff are musicians. We want to compose by harnessing the use of technology, to experiment and to create new sonic worlds and cultures.
