Social Psychology with a Year Abroad

This programme, fully accredited by the British Psychological Society, allows you to focus on topics related to social psychology. These include forensic psychology, substance use, family life and societal prejudice. Throughout your degree you will study a range of theoretical ideas and develop expert research skills. In your final year you will also design and implement an individual research project, related to a social psychological topic. Past students have chosen areas such as substance/alcohol use, implicit cognition, conspiracy theories, stereotyping and prejudice, and perceptions of ex-offenders. This course is ideal for students interested in business, entrepreneurship or the healthcare sector. It is also an excellent choice if you plan to go on to postgraduate study in social psychology, forensic psychology, clinical psychology, or marketing and management. Enhance your studies by spending a year abroad. All of our psychology degrees have a variant that includes spending your third year abroad before returning to UEA for your final year. While you’re away you will be encouraged to take modules that relate to your personal interests and career goals. These might be in psychology or in other disciplines. A year abroad is a unique, fulfilling experience that will help you develop skills coveted by employers. You can choose from a host of partner universities in Europe, North America and Australasia, including the University of California; University of Notre Dame; University of Hawaii at Manoa; Temple University and Vrije University Amsterdam.
