Philosophy, Politics and Economics

Gain a solid grounding in economic and political science while studying philosophical approaches to understanding human behaviour and society. Throughout your degree you will benefit from a compulsory economics core, which is complemented by specialist modules in politics and philosophy. The rewards of this multifaceted approach are substantial. You will learn to analyse a given economic, political or social problem using not only economic tools and concepts, but also those from political science and philosophy. By mastering these skills you will be able to present prediction and recommendations that are informed and insightful. In your final year you will continue to tailor your degree to your interests by choosing from a range of advanced, specialist modules from the School of Economics and the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies.
