During this integrated course you will develop your skills in chemistry and biology and learn how these are applied to drug design, drug delivery, pharmacology and medicines management with support from leading researchers and practitioners. To prepare you for multi-professional practice you will also be given a number of opportunities to learn with students from across the medical, nursing and healthcare professions. Throughout the course, you will undertake placements in community and hospital settings. In your final year you will have the opportunity to work alongside prison-based pharmacists, armed forces pharmacists and senior pharmacy managers. You will also carry out a research project, giving you the chance to gain a greater insight into a specialist subject area. This can also be undertaken at an English-speaking laboratory in a European university: we currently have arrangements with pharmacy schools in Germany, France, Spain and Norway. This course is currently accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
