Become a specialist in human geography and learn to apply this to the study of major issues in international development, including poverty and inequality, food security, environmental degradation, economic globalisation, health and migration. Develop your academic rigour and technical skills while also ensuring strong employability, through field experience, practical skills training, IT skills including geographical information systems (GIS), and excellent work placement opportunities. Gain experience of field work through an intensive field course in a choice of locations, for example the UK, Chile and India. Learn and use a range of geographical research methods to explore topics such as urban regeneration and restructuring, migration and urbanisation, and human-environmental interactions in the context of globalisation. Alternatively, spend a year studying abroad at an overseas university. This is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of a different country, gaining unique experiences, valuable skills and useful contacts. You will spend your third year studying at one of our partner universities before returning to UEA for your final year.
