In this degree you will study all core areas of the economy, from how it works to how it can fail, and how it can be improved. You will gain a foundation in the key concepts in macroeconomics and microeconomics. You will learn to understand consumption, savings, inflation, interest rates, monetary and fiscal policy, and the global economy. You will also study the behaviour of individuals and households and the decision-making of firms and governments. You will develop the ability to collect, analyse and interpret data – a key skill highly sought by employers. Throughout your degree you will learn economic modelling techniques and develop statistical skills, and have the opportunity to apply these in the form of practical and research-based projects. As you progress through your degree you will be able to specialise and tailor your studies to areas that you find particularly interesting and relevant for your career goals.
