You will have the chance to explore a broad range of subjects in your first year across all areas of biology, including genetics, biotechnology, evolutionary biology, microbiology and ecology. Then, later, you can tailor your course to your own interests, or specialise in cell biology or biology with science communication. Enhance your studies with a year studying abroad. You could study in Australasia, where our current exchange partners include Murdoch University, Perth; Macquarie University, Sydney; and University of Auckland, New Zealand. Or study in North America, where we have exchange agreements with universities in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Missouri and Oregon. We also have exchange partners in Canada, including universities in British Columbia and Ontario. Alternatively, you could study in Europe. If you choose this route, you will take appropriate language modules during your second year, in preparation for a year spent in France, Italy, Germany or Spain. If you study with our partners in the Netherlands and Sweden, you will be taught in English. Learning a second language and the experience of living and studying in Europe will prove to be a valuable asset to you as you begin your career.
