Accounting and Finance

This course is designed to equip you for a career in the accounting profession or a financial role in industry or the public sector. If you want to become a qualified accountant, you can gain exemptions from the highest professional bodies including ACCA and CIMA. As well as learning the key concepts of accounting, you will study current business issues and apply practical skills to solve real management problems. Through assessments, you will develop teamwork and project management skills – vital in any business role – and in the third year you will have the flexibility to specialise in an area that interests you. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to develop your presentation skills so that you are able to prepare well-researched business cases and financial reports. This course has a strong emphasis on enhancing employment prospects, so you will have the chance to undertake a year’s work placement and gain valuable experience in the business world.
