Zoology is the branch of biology suited to those who have a desire to learn more about animals; their evolution and adaptation; their place and role within ecosystems and their influence on scientific discovery within fields such as conservation, biotechnology, environmental management, animal welfare and education. At the University of Cumbria you will be taught across the subject area from molecular biology to evolution and adaptation, animal behaviour and animal ecology to conservation and habitat management. The course will be taught through a mix of lectures; practicals and field work in the UK and abroad to ensure you gain a broad range of skills to prepare you for a career in zoology or related scientific field.
