Forensic and Investigative Science (with integrated foundation year)

You will gain a firm foundation in scientific, intellectual and investigative skills and knowledge from which to progress onto your chosen BSc (Hons) programme. Practical laboratory work and an inter-disciplinary approach to science as well as developing your academic knowledge are all part of the four year course at our Carlisle Fusehill Street campus. Forensic and Investigative Science covers the traditional areas of forensic science, as well as more specialised areas such as wildlife and environmental crime. The programme includes a strong focus on professional standards to ensure you develop the knowledge and skills that employers are looking for. Students get hands-on experience of investigating realistic and complex crime scenes at our purpose-built facilities on campus. The course thoroughly prepares you for the job opportunities directly within forensic science and also opens up other career pathways.
