Mathematics and Mathematical Learning

Mathematics has always been a particular strength of Teacher Education at the University of Chichester. This course offers you the opportunity to study mathematics at degree level whilst following enquiries into the psychology of the teaching and learning of mathematics. You will be joining a community of maths education students taking a range of modules within a lively, imaginative context. The course is based at the Bognor Regis Campus. Opportunities to visit local schools will be provided in the final year of the programme to those students wishing to undertake a PGCE in Mathematics or Primary Education. The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Mathematics. The Institute’s Programme Accreditation scheme accredits university degree programmes from which all its graduates will meet the educational requirements for the Chartered Mathematician (CMath) designation. The Cmath designation recognises individuals as professional mathematicians, whose skills, experience and professionalism are alongside that of other chartered designations.
