Our Business Studies and IT Management for Business programme will enable you to acquire the skills and experience necessary to operate effectively across these areas. As technology continues to innovate, the expectations of information systems within organisations also changes. Business increasingly expects IT to enable better decision making, improve operations, identify new opportunities and promote the business and its products or services through electronic and social media. As well as the IT aspects of the degree, the Business side will provide students with a general skillset of marketing, law, and finance. On this course you will have the opportunity to gain technical skills based around a typical business IT infrastructure including database and web design. In addition students will develop skills to understand, and influence the business environment, including developing strategy, managing resources and implementing change. Our methods are different to many other universities as the majority of learning takes place in group workshops, in an interactive, participative environment. Modules are designed to be active and experiential so that the skills and knowledge you develop can be implemented in realistic settings. You will also have the opportunity to undertake a 10-week work placement as part of your final year studies.
