Journalism (including Foundation Year)

The overarching aim of the Journalism course is to implement an explicitly developmental approach to the teaching of students undertaking it. This means beginning with getting to grips with the underlying principles of journalism practice and theory, before gradually being given greater freedom as you progress to explore how to develop your own unique interests and talents in the context of theory and practice. You will be provided with essential underpinning knowledge and study skills during the foundation year, and will be introduced to the key themes relating to your extended undergraduate degree. Please note that for your Foundation Year, you will be taught at Gateway House, Chester.
