Teaching takes place at Parkgate Road campus. Our distinct, contemporary, course offers a balanced coverage of physical and human geography with opportunities to specialise; provides the opportunity for specialist degree training in aspects of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS); focuses on transferable, employment-related skills and knowledge; provides UK residential fieldwork alongside opportunities for overseas fieldwork; uses the latest technological innovations in classroom and fieldwork contexts; and offers a wide variety of assessment types. At Chester, you will have the opportunity to undertake a short placement at the end of Year 2 (Level 5). Depending on factors within your mode of study, you may also have the opportunity to spend an academic year in a French-speaking country. If this is an option for you, it allows you to split your experience of residence abroad, offering you the chance to spend time on different types of placement and, indeed, in different countries. In your first year you will have the opportunity to study a further language from scratch.
