Teaching takes place at the Warrington Campus. For Film Studies, you will learn about the popularity and power of film and its importance across a variety of contexts. Your studies will enhance your understanding of film and film practices, while also developing critical and analytical thinking skills. Across all three levels of the degree, you will study the historical, social, aesthetic, industrial and economic pressures that have shaped film into a popular global cultural form. Media Studies provides an opportunity to study the most influential and ubiquitous product of the 21st century. Many people, from audiences to governments, owners to distributors, seek to have influence over the media, to influence or control what we see, hear or read – and how. You will ask critical questions about the media industry and have the opportunity to develop a wide range of transferable abilities, which are welcome in many graduate roles.
