Teaching takes place at the Parkgate Road campus. For English Literature over the three years you will study a variety of texts from the earliest times to the present day. Through the study of stimulating texts you will develop a range of core skills which will be relevant after graduation to many different roles and employment opportunities. Archaeology is the study of the human past, from the hunter-gatherers of Ice Age Europe to the inhabitants of modern cities. At Chester, our course provides you with an understanding of these past societies and the techniques that we use to study them. The course aims to provide you with a wide range of skills, such as field survey and excavation, critical reading and writing, and scientific analysis; as well as the opportunity to specialise in particular periods or themes.
