Sport Business Management (Foundation Entry) - University of Central Lancashire

Foundation Entry degree courses are designed for students who have the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to enter directly onto their chosen Honours degree programme. Prepare yourself for a career in sports business management with this rigorous and intellectually stimulating course from UCLan, which focuses on your development as a critical thinker. You’ll examine sports business management from a range of perspectives, linking theory and practice while drawing on contemporary research and issues in sports business, including sustainability, globalisation, corporate social responsibility and corruption. At the same time, you’ll learn the core business management disciplines - including management, finance, strategy, operations and economics – and their application to sport, graduating with the skills, knowledge and experience you need to become an effective leader and manager in the sports sector. Health and sports is a booming sector in the UK offering many graduate opportunities locally and internationally. And following the Olympics 2012 legacy, a degree in Sports Business Management will lead to a diverse array of opportunities including sports management, performance, coaching, a career in public service or the army. There is the opportunity to undertake a period of study (a semester or a whole year) abroad, in the USA, Singapore, UCLan Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Germany or Kazan University in Russia studying how sport is delivered, managed and the problems it faces in different cultures.
