Professional Policing (Foundation Entry) - University of Central Lancashire

The BSc (Hons) Professional Policing is the new nationally recognised College of Policing approved pre-join degree for entry into the service as a Police Constable. The course provides the student with the necessary knowledge and some of the skills required for the Police Constable role. The qualification does not guarantee selection into the service but provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain knowledge and skills and a level 6 qualification, required to gain employment as a police constable from 2020. This degree will be delivered from September 2019 and is one of the three nationally recognised entry routes into the police service as a Police Constable from 2020. The other two routes are; Completing the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship following recruitment and selection by a Police Force. Recruitment and selection as a degree holder (any level 6 degree) with the requirement to complete a graduate diploma as part of the degree holder entry programme once in the role.
