During your Foundation Entry Year you will study alongside peers from related courses, whilst you gain a broad introduction to the basics of business, alongside improving key skills needed for success at university, including numeracy, writing and IT skills. Your existing skills will be built on by providing subject specific skills, whilst introducing you to subjects taught within the Schools of Management and Business, in order that you may more easily choose your preferred course, following successful completion of the Foundation Year. This course provides an excellent combination if you are interested in learning about international markets and contemporary management approaches. You’ll learn about the issues that affect international firms and the importance of understanding the culture of a market. There are personal development modules that will help you to gain the skills for a successful career in business. You’ll have the option to study abroad or take a paid placement and develop a foreign language. In the final year you’ll explore strategic management issues in international businesses. We are renowned for developing graduates who are highly employable and have strong entrepreneurial skills. This course offers a 48-week work placement opportunity where you will have the chance to work in a real business and gain vital work experience that will assist you in gaining employment when you graduate. In addition, you will have further opportunities for real-world work experience through short internships, volunteering and much more. Many of our students have secured placements and summer internships for companies such as Marriott and Disney in the USA. You will also have the opportunity to study abroad and take some of your modules at our Cyprus campus. We offer a unique travel bursary fund where you can apply for funding to pay for your international study experience.
