Want to work in the health and social care sector? Gain the skills you’ll need to work in youth justice, NHS trusts, private hospitals, children's services, social services, family centres and children's homes. This work-based learning programme comprises a set of courses in Health, Social Care and Mental Health and is aimed at meeting the skills required by the growing health and social care market. You’ll complete two practice placement modules (in Years 1 and 2) allowing you to develop a range of work-based skills. Completion of this two year course will enable you to progress into a Year 3 top-up degree. The course aims to equip you if you are working, or intending to work in health and social care with relevant knowledge and skills, to address your continuing professional development needs and to bridge the gap between theory and practice. You will focus on your personal and professional development throughout the course and will integrate your skills and knowledge in academic and work-based settings. By completing Year 1 of the course you will have the option to apply for the BSc (Hons) Pre-registration Nursing. Successful completion of the two-year programme will allow you to gain access to the third year of the BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care and the BA (Hons) in Community and Social Care: Policy and Practice. You can also use this to gain entry onto courses such as nursing, physiotherapy, sports therapy and social work. You’ll be able to use your skills in health and social care to seek employment within the youth justice systems, NHS trusts, private hospitals, children's services, social services, family centres as well as children's homes.
