UNSW Sydney

Our focus is on international history from roughly 1800 onwards, covering empires, the rise in political polarisation, World Wars and the shaping of our modern political systems. This fits well with politics, which at Buckingham is particularly focused on the study of specific countries and regions, including the EU, United States, Latin America, the Middle East, Iran, Russia and China. You will be taught by experts in small groups. Your lecturers will also be your tutors; we don’t employ graduate teaching assistants. And you will benefit from the diverse cultural experiences of the other students, who are drawn from over 80 countries. You will gain a comprehensive knowledge that can be adapted to a wide range of careers. The degree is an ideal preparation for careers in diplomacy, international business, journalism, politics and education, as well as the academic grounding to pursue further studies in history, politics or international relations.
