Environmental Geoscience

Our BSc Environmental Geoscience degree is heavily science based, emphasising the interactions between the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere in developing and controlling Earth's environment. This dynamic system is studied through the interactions between geology, biology, chemistry and physics, which together define conditions on Earth and how these may be influenced by human activities. Years one and two give you a firm grounding in earth sciences, building your knowledge to make informed and useful option choices during your third year when a broad range of advanced topics is available. You will carry out a detailed independent field and laboratory project in your third year.
