English Literature and Creative Writing

This course is for students who are passionate about literature and want to apply their critical reading skills to writing. Students will link their awareness of technique, form and style in literature to the craft of writing, and consider texts and their own work in relation to political, social and cultural theories. Students are encouraged to write in a variety of styles and develop an understanding of the techniques and skills involved in storytelling across a range of genres. Throughout the course, students will develop reading and writing strategies that inform critical judgment and imaginative thinking, enriching practices of research and writing.
