Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering combines skills needed to conceive, design and produce the moving parts, components and machinery used in every aspect of manufacture. Modern mechanical engineers use sophisticated computer-aided design and engineering skills to ensure their products are reliable, efficient and economic. Computer-aided design and manufacturing (CADCAM) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) are covered in depth. Considerable time is spent on practical work in the state-of-the-art laboratory. This course comprises an extra fourth academic year of more in-depth study, and provides all the formal educational requirements necessary to present yourself for CEng registration. Professional Accreditation/Recognition These courses are accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and can lead to Chartered Engineer (CEng) accreditation. This course is recognised by ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education).
