Nursing (Adult) Central Manchester Foundation Trust

***If you are looking to apply for January 2018 start, please submit your application for January 2017 and select the deferred entry option.*** The University of Bolton’s Adult Nursing degree, offered in partnership with Central Manchester Foundation NHS Trust, will prepare you for a successful career caring for people over 18 who are ill, injured, or have physical disabilities. You will spend 50% of your time in clinical practice placements and study at the University will complement and enhance your learning in the workplace. You will learn to care for adults with acute and long-term illnesses, in hospital and at home, as well as gain expertise in health promotion and disease prevention. Working together with our partner Trust, we will prepare you to become a confident, professional nurse, able to deliver and lead adult care within an ever changing health and social care environment. On successful completion of the nursing qualification you will possess the knowledge and skills you’ll need to perform as an independent, highly competent, compassionate nurse who can be trusted to maintain professional standards and assure the protection of the public. There is a shortage of qualified nurses in the UK, and there are significantly more applicants for nursing degrees than there are NHS funded places on university courses. We are the first University/NHS Trust partnership in the UK to offer student nursing places that are not commissioned by Health Education England – creating much needed additional university places. This means we will be recruiting 20 students onto the course every year. The places are not NHS funded but you may be eligible for a student loan to pay for the tuition fees.
