The BA (Hons) Live Events Production (Top-up) course at Backstage Academy provides a progression route for students who have successfully completed the FdA in Live Events Production or other similar HND/level 5 qualifications (or equivalent) in a related subject, who are looking to enhance and develop their careers, as well as gain a degree qualification. This course is delivered in partnership between the University of Bolton and Backstage Academy, South Kirkby, Near Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Backstage Academy is based at the largest production rehearsal studio facility in Europe (LS-Live). In the last 12 months many renowned artists and bands have kept the studios busy – from Lionel Ritchie, One Direction, Ollie Murs, Arctic Monkeys and Depeche Mode to Massive Attack, Swedish House Mafia and Sigur Rós. It is not just live music that finds a home in our state-of-the-art rehearsal facility – film and TV companies such as the BBC and ITV, and brands like Jaguar, Aston Martin Racing and Monster Energy, all use the LS-Live facility to help them achieve their production requirements. You will study a range of modules to enhance and build upon your previous studies and experience in a related subject area. The top-up year is focused on management and will provide more insight into the key issues involved in the strategic operational production management of large events, festivals and venues, whilst honing your academic skills in preparation of progression to higher level studies.
