Our Biology degree aims to immerse you in this splendour by offering ‘a grand tour’ of biological disciplines, a sound knowledge of research methods, and opportunities to develop a wide range of sought-after skills and aptitudes. Our passionate, research-active and experienced team will guide you to explore life through a mix of theoretical study and hands-on field trips and laboratory workshops. We’ll help you engage with the key theories, concepts and debates that are central to biology. You’ll have plentiful opportunities to carry out research and conduct experiments so that you can become familiar with research methods, and learn how to collect, analyse, evaluate and interpret data. We’ll support you to develop skills in problem solving, critical analysis and argument, making informed judgements and scientific reasoning. In addition, you’ll have opportunities to develop an impressive range of softer skills such as communication, team work, time management and independent learning. Ultimately, our goal is to prepare you for career success in biology and beyond.
