MA Fashion Media Practice and Criticism (Integrated Masters) address the emerging discipline of fashion criticism in the context of fashion communication. This course covers writing, image-making, moving image and curatorial and editorial practices. Students learn how to be a critical fashion communicator and prepare for a career in fashion media. **What can you expect?** MA Fashion Media Practice and Criticism is an integrated MA taught over 4 years. This type of course enables students to start as undergraduates and exit with a postgraduate qualification. The MA qualification offers a distinct advantage in today’s competitive environment. This course builds a wealth of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Students learn to be critical thinkers, rigorous communicators and influential and intelligent practitioners. The course investigates the impact of fashion on contemporary culture. The emphasis of the course is on the global nature of fashion communication. You will learn about publishing, curation, editorial, moving image, critical writing and all aspects of image making. Students will also explore intellectual property, law, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, the impact of technology, ethics and the politics of fashion. This will help you to develop a broad social, environmental and cultural awareness. Projects with industry clients and outside agencies will be an important element of the course and you will learn to work collaboratively and as an individual. You will develop your understanding of fashion communication so that you are able to confidently challenge existing concepts, principles and values of fashion. London College of Fashion (LCF) undergraduate courses develop your personal and professional skills. On this course you will develop skills in your discipline until you are an independent creative thinker. Your skills will make you capable of making an effective contribution to this sector of the fashion industry. We embed Personal and Professional Development (PPD) skills in all units on every course. Speaker programmes with contributions from alumni and members of industry are a part of many courses. We encourage graduates who wish to continue their education at postgraduate level to progress to suitable courses within the College, the University or elsewhere. Many postgraduates prefer to seek employment as soon as they have completed their MA. We expect graduates from this course to progress to careers in areas of criticism, image making, editing, curation, publishing or writing. Graduates would also be suited to work across institutional or organisational areas of fashion such as corporate social responsibility, education, policy or innovation. This course is based in Lime Grove in Shepherd's Bush, which is west of Holland Park and Notting Hill. Tucked away in a quiet street our Lime Grove campus is a beautiful brick building with rustic windows and high ceilings. Nearby Portobello Road market is the world’s largest antiques market and adjacent Shepherd’s Bush Market is full of vibrant fabrics, fresh produce, furniture and falafel. Make-up, prosthetics and photography facilities can be found at Lime Grove, along with media labs. **About London College of Fashion** London College of Fashion, UAL, has been nurturing creative talent for over a century, offering courses in all things fashion.
