About UC3M Business

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) was established in 1989 and offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in English. Some 20 per cent of its student body is made of international students and it was was the first university in Spain and the third in Europe to participate in an Erasmus student exchange programme.

The Department of Business Administration at Carlos III has a strong reputation, often coming top in its field in Spain and the university as a whole is often ranked among the top 150 institutions in the world. The Department offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, including an MBA programme accredited by AMBA (The Association of MBAs) and a specialised PhD in Business Economics and Quantitative Methods.

Carlos III was the first Spanish public university to have its MBA programme accredited by AMBA and is still the only Spanish AMBA-accredited public MBA. It is a year-long, full-time international program, offering a learning experience based on real, modern-day management issues and based on hands-on problem-solving tools. Students are taught independent thinking and to approach business problems and opportunities with critical questioning. The programme is taught in English and provides Spanish language tutoring so all students finish their MBA year with a good understanding of the language.

Faculty members have had research published in journals such as the Administrative Science Quarterly, Econometrics, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, the Strategic Management Journal and The Accounting Review.

UC3M students are able to carry out internships through collaborative agreements the university has signed with different companies and organisations. Furthermore, this institution has distinguished itself through the high job placement rate of its graduates, which, according to the latest study on career placement, is nearly 90 per cent.
