Film and Television Production

Summary: If you are dynamic, creative and passionate about TV, film and the moving image, this is the course for you. Taught by staff with established professional track records, it prepares you to work in this challenging, creative and constantly changing industry. Course details: You produce films using state-of-the-art, tapeless HD facilities, supported by a team of dedicated technical staff. You explore factual and drama production including pitching, project development and screenwriting. You experiment with content creation for new and emerging platforms such as mobile and online. You explore the media production business, and develop skills in critically analysing both professional products and your own production work. You also develop entrepreneurial skills and a critical understanding of the contemporary media industry. The course and students from this course have won many awards including the winner of the Best Undergraduate Factual Category at the Royal Television Society National Awards 2016. After the course: Our graduates go on to work in a variety of creative industries including film, network, regional and corporate TV production, audio production, creative arts organisations, marketing and events. Recent graduates are currently working in a wide variety of jobs including producers, directors, camera operators and editors. Several have set up their own companies.
