If you are interested in studying for a successful career in the growing and dynamic Public Relations (PR) industry and you would like to gain practical experience then this is the degree for you. Our Public Relations and Media degree programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute for Public Relations. Our Public Relations and Media degree programme offers you the opportunity to: • Learn about PR and its relationship to marketing and advertising and also digital and practical media, film and journalism. • Spend your third year in a one-year paid placement in a media and communication work place environment. • Study a compulsory module in the second year which focuses on professional development including CV writing, application best practice, interview techniques and how to research industry sectors. • Develop creative skills to manage digital media campaigns and direct strategic, international communications, specialising in PR. You can also study distinct pathways in digital and practical media, film and journalism. • Be equipped with generic broad-based skills to specialise in further study or essential skills for the professional workplace. • Be taught by staff who are specialist International researchers and also ex-professionals lecturing on video production, web and creative design, PR and journalism. Our media and communication department achieved 100% student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2016 and the National Student Survey 2015. Our Employability Officer supports our students with information and advice which is backed up by the University’s Careers Service and Work Placement Team. All students have access to events, workshops and employer talks, including an annual conference for students in June to support final year students with the transition into the world of work.
