Studying the BA (Hons) Health and Social Care degree is ideal for students who are interested in careers in environments such as the NHS, Social Services, independent health and social care, voluntary and charitable sectors. Students are sometimes taught alongside those undertaking other related degrees, such as Social Policy and Medical Science and Humanities, and will have opportunities to form professional and academic relationships early in their career. This programme prepares you to work across professional and organisational boundaries - something consistent with the current UK policy aim to achieve better integration between health and social care. This approach focuses on collaboration, preparing you well for the world of work. You are given an overview of the structure and organisation of UK health and social care and major UK and Welsh Government policy on health and social care provision. The course produces graduates equipped with transferable skills, including team working, communication, presentation, problem-solving and analytical skills. • AVERAGE EARNINGS: Graduate Entry level roles typically range from £18,000-£32,000 with managerial roles in the health and social care service sector usually ranging from £25,411 to £46,600 at the higher end. • You will have the opportunity to work towards the Swansea Employability Award to gain work experience and develop skills that employers are looking for. • You will have the opportunity to incorporate a work placement as part of the degree • There is also the opportunity to undertake study visits abroad, including a two-week, college specific international summer programme.
