Classical Civilisation and Greek

If you are interested study the Greek and Roman worlds including Greek language, history, philosophy, archaeology and art, to shine a light on the ancient civilisations that have shaped our modern world then this is the degree for you. Our Classical Civilisation and Greek degree programme offers you the opportunity to: • Study, intermediary and advanced Greek. • Take module Ancient and Historic Places, a study trip or field project focusing on a specific region or place in your second year. • Take a work-placement through the “Literacy through Latin” project to teach Latin to primary and secondary school children. • Teach beginners Greek to members of the local community during the summer in the ‘Latin in the Park’/’Talk like an Egyptian’ project. • Gain teaching experience by leading workshops for the South West Wales Reaching Wider Partnership. 91% of our graduates are employed within six months of graduating according to the latest DLHE 2015 figures. Our Employability Officer supports our students with information and advice which is backed up by the University’s Careers Service and Work Placement Team. All students have access to events, workshops and employer talks, including an annual conference for students in June to support final year students with the transition into the world of work.
