About Staffordshire University

At Staffordshire University, we are connecting our 16,500 students to a first-rate education and the world of work. With 97.5% of 2016 graduates now employed or in further study, we are proud to be number one for graduate employability.*

From our roots in mining and ceramic technology, we are now leaders in digital innovation and continue to maintain close links with the cutting edge of industry.

With over 50 years’ experience in providing computing courses, we have also built a reputation as one of the best universities in the UK for computer games degrees.

Our dedication to our students’ success has seen us shortlisted in the 2017 THE awards for most improved student experience. A silver award in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework reflects consistently high standards of learning and teaching.

Research excellence is central to our ethos as the Connected University, which is why we plan to double our research capacity while further improving quality and impact. Currently, 78% of our research is world leading or of international importance; driven by a network of interdisciplinary research centres we produce hundreds of published papers each year.

We are committed to making new discoveries and translating them for the benefit of society. From the promotion of physical activity for healthier communities, to improving the lived environment in disadvantaged places, to developing new methods of forensic fibre analysis, our research has an impact at the regional, national and international level.

Ultimately, our research and knowledge exchange activities underpin our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, contribute to student mobility, and promote Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire on the global stage.

Recent investment of more than £100 million in our city campus in Stoke-on-Trent and Centres of Excellence in Healthcare Education at Stafford and Shrewsbury is ensuring a fully connected and digitally enabled learning environment for all of our students.
