Cyber Security (with a foundation year)

Any organisation that has a computer network or uses the Internet has a potential security risk and will need help to protect their systems and data. If you’re interested in becoming a computing professional within the growing area of cyber security, we will give you the knowledge you need to become a specialist. The course combines theory and practice, as well as cyber security. Beginning with a foundation year, you'll learn the underpinning technical areas of hardware, software and networked systems. You’ll also get to use our dedicated, self-contained lab. The lab has its own private internal visualised network and contains some of the latest security equipment and software including biometric measurement equipment. Graduates from our Cyber Security degree usually find work within IT security - in either the public or private sector. Former students have secured placements in a variety of organisations, including GCHQ, Police High Tech Crime Units, Cyber Security and Digital Forensic businesses. Some are working on system security within Hewlett-Packard and in security analysis within banks and insurance companies.
