It covers Cisco’s CCNA and CCNP networking industry certifications, and helps you to develop advanced skills in the specific area of network security. Security has become a critical area of concern for modern society as well as for companies. This course prepares you with the skills you’ll need to protect people and organisations from attacks. On successful completion of study, you will receive the following award: BSc (Hons) Computer Networks and Security **Work placements** If you choose to complete one of our sandwich courses with a work placement between the second and final years of the course, our placement staff will work with you to identify a suitable location for your work placement. Please also note that you are responsible for any costs incurred in travelling to and from your work placement, and for any accommodation costs. Previous students have worked with small enterprises or large companies like Cisco and Thomson Reuters. We also send students on placements to Cisco’s European HQ in Brussels; we are the only UK university that currently does so.
