The BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology with Foundation Year has been designed for students who have the ability to study for an honours degree, but don’t yet have the necessary academic qualifications to immediately begin a degree programme. Information Technology (IT) plays a major role in maximising the capability of businesses in today’s competitive corporate world. This course will prepare you for IT management, where you could be responsible for IT systems development, as well as supporting the IT functionality of a number of different departments. You could also pursue a career in IT system development or systems analysis and design. Industry speakers, including graduates from this course, are regularly invited to deliver guest lectures to bring a real-world perspective to learning. They’ll share their experiences of the computing industry with you and help you to develop the skills that employers want – skills such as communication, time management and teamwork. Our Business Information Technology degree will prepare you for work in research, business analysis, web development, IT technical support, IT consultancy, information systems management and software development. Our students find work in a wide range of computing and business areas. Companies include Amazon, Cisco, Barclays, Microsoft, and eBay.
