You’ll take an in-depth look at sports branding, fan relationship marketing, sponsorship, fan culture and ticketing – and develop your knowledge of core marketing principles that can be applied in any industry. Southampton Solent University’s sports marketing programme is built around the themes of employability and real-world learning. Students study a broad range of topics including strategic management, PR, communication and public consumption of sport – focusing specifically on key issues that have affected the industry over the last 50 years. These varied units enable students to develop an extensive understanding of the sports industry while also learning essential transferable marketing skills. The curriculum also offers optional units in the second and third year of study. This allows students to tailor the degree to their career ambition and research interests.
