Indonesian and World Philosophies

Our unique World Philosophies degree offers you the chance to engage with a diverse range of philosophical traditions from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. This course will expand your knowledge and develop your critical understanding of philosophy in the context of a wider range of societies and historical eras than a traditional philosophy degree. You will investigate the origin, nature, methods, and limits of human knowledge; traditions of argumentation; as well as political and ethical systems of thought from a truly global perspective. This combined degree also offers a range of language courses as well as courses on the literature and film of Indonesia, providing you with a nuanced view of life and thought in the country. Students will also take some regional courses, in order to place Indonesia within the wider Southeast Asian context.
