This is an applied design course as we believe the most effective way to learn these skills is by directly engaging and experiencing them on a daily basis. You'll learn the whole design process through continued making, reflection and critical thinking. As you progress through the course you're encouraged to engage with a variety of design problems of increased complexity. **How you learn** This course is part of the Sheffield Institute of Arts — our creative community within Sheffield Hallam. **You learn through:** - workshops - critiques - seminars - lectures - self-directed study There are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus programme. **Applied learning** **Work placements** You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your second and third years. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career.
