Finance and Economics with Foundation Year - Sheffield Hallam University

Study your foundation year, then progress to a degree with industry accreditation from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). With a rounded skillset brought about by a balanced emphasis on both financial and economic theory and practice, with hands-on practical experience to match, you'll be well suited to a range of exciting graduate positions. **How you learn** The course is suitable if you don't meet the entry requirements for our BA (Hons) Finance and Economics course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other Sheffield Business School foundation year students, then move on to the degree. This varied, enriching course allows for the study and implementation of economic and financial theory. In doing so, you'll fully prepare yourself for undergraduate study. **Applied learning** **Work placements** You will have the opportunity to incorporate a year-long work placement into your degree between the third and fourth years. This gives you real-world experience to prepare you for your future career. Placement years take place in world-leading companies, public and private sector finance departments, accountancy firms and elsewhere. Recent placements have included the HM Treasury, PwC, Oxford Economics, eON UK, GE Capital, O2 and Mercedes AMG.,/p> **Networking opportunities** With guest speakers and an optional placement year, you'll be well placed to develop a network of well-placed contacts within the finance industry.
