Events and Leisure Management (Top Up)

This course allows you to top up your current qualifications to honours degree level. The events and leisure industries are an important part of cultural and business activity in the UK and overseas. They include private, public and voluntary organisations. This course meets the increasing demand for graduates with management skills in planning and organising events. It prepares you for a career in events management but with a specialisation in sport and leisure events and the management of multi-purpose venues, such as football and sports stadiums. You study events theory, policy and practice integrated with business management. We develop your understanding of what is involved in planning and managing events and other leisure activities. An important part of your work involves projects and business simulation. Through these, you experience the part venues play in the leisure industry and in events such as sporting events, concerts, festivals, business conferences, and weddings. We focus the course on the events and leisure industry, but the broader analytical and personal skills you develop are applicable to many careers.
