This course is suitable for educational support workers from a range of settings, including those working across the full age range in schools and colleges. As an experienced practitioner, it allows you to build on your existing qualifications and graduate with an honours degree. Your studies focus on the current requirements and environment of the educational sector. You explore • leadership • quality improvement • staff development and CPD • research in the workplace, and the ways in which these support the continuous development of effective practice. You also consider their impact on your own delivery of improved outcomes for children and young people. We use a work-based learning approach to ensure the development of your knowledge, skills and understanding is directly relevant to your role. This means that during projects and assessments, you use your daily work experiences as the basis for your learning. This qualification can help you to gain positions with greater responsibility. It can also enable you to progress to professional qualifications such as Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or postgraduate level study.
